Tree Spirits
Treebeard!! :D
It’s the Great Deku Tree. Navi where art thou? On second thought, stay away you pestering fairy.
I recently was talking with a person about the idea that homosexuals, no matter how good, will go to hell… I was not arguing with this person, not directly. He mentioned that God cannot be all loving and punish good people at the same time. However, I viewed it as a linear thought pattern.
Maybe God can be all loving and punish those who are good. We just cannot judge that love on the same parameters as is often viewed in society. But rather a warped view of love, a psychopathic kind of love. In the same way a killer would love the person he kills, though it lacks logic in the traditional sense, love is ambiguous to say the least and the form of expressing it is different between people. That said it is still wrong to kill the ones you love (Lesson one kids).
But perhaps he was all loving only in one time period, I could be all loving tomorrow and not the next day however for that day if someone wanted to write about me they would describe me as all loving.
Maybe the concept of love can be changed once again, like how a person may love the game WoW, so does god love the game of civilisation where empires rise and fall, people live and die, creation and destruction live simultaneously and the only way to survive is to become peons in his army.
But it is also the interoperation of humans that has developed this “all-loving” persona which I do not particularly believe is even a trait described properly in the text. All that is clear is that he is all powerful and does things upon a exchange basis. Follow this and I will do X, do not and I will do Y. Count the numerous times he has severely punished people for not obeying him, not only that but has even stricken innocent people down, slaves even as if they were simply a commodity which in those days were, they were side characters, unimportant, God cared for the ones who lead or owned the slaves. Think back to the last time you punished someone you truly loved so harshly just for disobeying a single request or in God’s case a demand.
From what I’ve seen God is so utterly flawed just as a human is that it is no wonder it is written we were made in Gods image. He’s attention hoarding, proud and sociopathic. And in all honesty, why shouldn’t he? The concepts of the sanctity of life, fairness, honesty and love were created by humans by living in a world where death occurs and pain is just as common as the pleasures of life. A God who has not known any fear of death, experienced no loss and no pain cannot understand no matter how all knowing. Essentially the concept of God is a human released from the things that plague us in this world, a human with ultimate power who wishes others to stroke his ego (You shall have no other Gods before me) yet gives them free will so that his game becomes much more interesting.
This was also in response to a comment about Christians who help people regardless of their sexuality of religion yet still believe that they would go to hell no matter how good they are. When truly having faith in it’s existence you have no choice but to obey, the best thing you can do is support the “supposed enemy” while not directly going against your ruler, especially since the ruler advocates it to a degree, no sense in the game ending too soon right?
Humans are more compassionate and beautiful than most people think. We have our minds warped by those in power. And this time I’m not talking about God. I’m talking about the Church and the evolution of power that eventually overtook it inheriting the values displayed.
When Christianity rose to such a degree of power that it became paired with the state, owning the Church was owning the power over the whole domain. You could eliminate anything you did not agree with and when asked to atone for these crimes you could simply point to that all mighty power that no one could touch yet all believed could erase them completely in an instant. No one dared oppose as they did not know any better.
In the end, it was power that corrupted the ones who had it and caused a ripple through time that is still echoing through to today. Power is what truly corrupts, not faith, not God. The power people had before allowed them to warp the views of a hundred generations seeding it’s methods into it’s partner which now has birthed the corporations and governments, having the right to deny anything just as the church has done before them.
Humans will help each other, they care, but being forced into believing that they own anything and they should be selfish. They do not help, rationalising it as if they are living in their own fantasy world where hard work gets you places and people get what they deserve. Protecting their things, not knowing that we only keep them because we are allowed to, at any moment it can all be taken from us and we’d be none the wiser. Because once you reach that immunity from the difficulties of life and have power to change the world around you not for the better but in your own twisted vision you truly lose sympathy. That’s why it’s called a God complex.

For a month I felt like I was missing something, whenever I log onto the computer I feel like there’s something I forgot to check. And just today I realised I hadn’t come onto tumblr for ages.
I just smoked some weed right now and remembered. Funny how for me it seems to increase long term memory retrieval. So anyway I had so much to write about, views on what has happened even though most people will not care unless it agrees with their view.
I just recently started going to an academy to study game art, animation and VFX.
I started working part time with my dad. Building offices and such, it’s a good job and give you a workout with good pay. But the best part about the job is putting on the tool belt with the buckle at the front because that’s when it all starts. I have my hammer to the side, and pouches behind me, like a ninja or some sort of game character. Even when not working I find a way to make things fun, not for other people but for me, I live one world in while other people are affected and I live another one augmented on top. But it’s especially interesting at work.
So when I got my belt I imagined a sound effect with text saying “tool belt acquired”
Not only that but you pass by things that make it even more like a game, like searching for certain tools or materials, the second I say ok another text goes “Quest added”
And I get a lot of EXP by the end of the say to which I reflect back and learn new skills. From simple things like light stepping to avoid hazards, to ingenuity with ladders.
But it didn’t really hit me until today when they added doors, but they didn’t add handles or holes to open them and I had to go find something that was in three possible locations. So I navigated around and found what I was looking for, then I walked down to where the door was only from the other side so now could open it finding a quicker route back.
The second I did it I though “Area unlocked ‘Corridors’”
I know it might sound boring, but I’m easily amused. And that’s when I thought it be fun for todays gaming culture if there was an app that tracked quest data, exp, stats and inventory (optional).
This is just for shits and giggles, but I’d love to have an app like that.
But then, as I usually do with these kinds of seeds of thoughts. I took it either nearly or way too far. But this is just hypothetical.
Have a device that does these things. Register yourself and give yourself limited base stats. The device would have GPS that can be activated like a homing becon only it will give a quest icon, when highlighted will display basic information of the quest, I was thinking it would be cool to have everything on the GPS save the quest icons invisible until you walk to new areas then adding that part of the map to your index.
People who want things to be done for them can add a quest into the system and then activate whenever they feel comfortable, showing their position so that questers can come and ask about it. Rewards can be posted, as object or possible a paypal payment system, or credits to the system should something be available for them.
Different templates can be used for different people, that being hobbies. Like a parkour practitioner for example will not require the same template as say a geocacher. Levels will be related to their specific occupation and can have multiple ones for different hobbies as well as a basic one for the majority of people. I suppose slightly custom ones can be used.
And if you ask me, what’s the point in levels in this kind of game, I must ask, what’s the point of World of Warcraft. To show off your levels, but instead of something innate, it’s gained by helping real people.
Even if it isn’t used in everyday life I think it would be a hit at conventions.
It’s new year here and we all missed the count down. But no one gave a fuck because we were alerted of the new year by Sydneys fireworks. I felt like such a nerd looking at the fireworks thinking that the explosions looked like microbes and sub-atomic particles.
I need to take a break from watching The Big Bang theory.
